Stay tips · Guide updated on 3 October 2026
Where is Forville market in Cannes?
The market is at the foot of Le Suquet, near the Vieux Port. The reference address is 6 rue du Marché Forville, 06400 Cannes. The neighbouring streets let you extend your visit towards the shops on rue Meynadier, the restaurants and the old town. During the works, also check temporary locations before setting out.
Opening times: the food market and flea market are different visits
Cannes Tourisme lists the food market as open Tuesday to Sunday, from 7 am to 1 pm. The City also mentions daily opening during summer: check the calendar for your dates, especially Mondays in summer. These guidelines do not guarantee that every trader will be present.
Monday is also the day of Forville’s flea market. If you want to buy fresh produce, distinguish between the two activities; consult the municipal opening times for the flea market rather than applying those of the food market.
Forville during the works: what you need to know
Renovation of the market hall and its surroundings is changing the market’s layout, while trading continues. As of 3 October 2026, municipal information describes a split between Forville and the marquee on the Allées de la Liberté, with fishers back on the market square since 31 March 2026. Consult the official listing to locate stalls at the time of your stay.
The future rooftop garden is part of the project: do not plan a visit to this new space without confirmation that it has opened. Access to the car park may also change; check your arrival route during the works.
What should you look for on the stalls?
Forville brings together fresh produce, flowers, specialities and food shops. Ask where products come from and whether they are in season: a market stall does not mean everything comes from a local producer. To discover a speciality, look for socca and pissaladière, depending on which stalls are open.
An unhurried morning at Forville
- Before setting out: check the market day and information about the works. Take a reusable bag.
- At the market: look around before buying; compare products and talk to the traders.
- After shopping: return to drop off your purchases at the accommodation. Then leave time for a break in the neighbourhood.
- To continue exploring: discover rue Meynadier or walk up towards Place de la Castre. Le Suquet’s slopes and steps matter if you have a pushchair or mobility difficulties.
With children or a group, a short plan leaves more room for discoveries than a list of visits to rush through.
Where to stay near Forville market?
To enjoy Forville over several days, compare addresses at the foot of Le Suquet and around the Vieux Port. Check the walk from the accommodation’s door, access with luggage and which way bedrooms face: a lively neighbourhood can have different atmospheres from street to street.
A kitchen and shared table are useful for enjoying market purchases together. For a family or team, also look at the number of bathrooms, sleeping arrangements and total price for the same dates. Our Le Suquet guide explains these criteria; the La Banane guide lets you compare with the central shopping district.
Le Nid des Artistes: sharing Cannes from Le Suquet
Le Nid is on rue Georges Clemenceau in Le Suquet. The loft has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and accommodates up to 14 guests, depending on sleeping arrangements. After visiting the market, return to the living area and terrace; the private sauna and cinema are included in the booking.
For a business trip, combine time in the neighbourhood with your meetings: the Palais is around nine minutes on foot from Le Nid, depending on the route and crowds, or around five minutes by car, depending on traffic. Also see our Cannes trade show guides.
Choose your dates to check availability and direct-booking conditions. If you are travelling as a team, use the form to specify the group size and sleeping requirements.
