Why choose Le Suquet for your stay in Cannes?
Le Suquet is the historic heart of Cannes. Its hill, cobbled streets and Place de la Castre make up a neighbourhood to explore on foot. It appeals to travellers who want an old-town atmosphere between outings by the sea. Restaurants and local life are part of the stay: choose your street as carefully as your accommodation.
Where to stay in Le Suquet: choose according to your plans
- At the foot of the neighbourhood, towards the Vieux Port: a location to consider for combining meetings at the Palais with walks. Check the route from the accommodation’s front door, not just from the neighbourhood.
- Around rue Georges Clemenceau and the Plages du Midi: a base for combining the sea and the old town. Le Nid des Artistes is in this area.
- In the narrow streets higher up the hill: a choice for enjoying heritage and views. Check the slopes and steps if you have a pushchair, heavy luggage or mobility difficulties.
These pointers are advice to help you choose, not a guarantee of quiet or accessibility: always ask for details about the building and street.
Four stops to explore the neighbourhood
- Rue Meynadier: look out for its food shops to put together a meal to share at your accommodation.
- Forville: a stop for market produce. See our Forville market guide. Renovation work is changing its layout; check the municipal information before setting out.
- Rue Saint-Antoine: stroll along this restaurant-lined street, then choose your table based on the menu and the atmosphere at the time.
- Place de la Castre: walk up towards the Musée des explorations du monde and Notre-Dame-d’Espérance church. Check opening times if you want to visit the museum; a walk around the neighbourhood does not replace an admission ticket.
Rémy’s tip: plan a stay on foot
The Plages du Midi offer an alternative walk to the Croisette. Check accessible areas, lifeguard coverage and swimming conditions on site; facilities and services vary by beach and season.
Staying in Le Suquet during a trade show at the Palais
For a team, compare the number of bathrooms, separate sleeping spaces and the possibility of gathering around a table. Le Nid des Artistes has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, fibre Wi-Fi and a large living area. Up to 14 guests can stay, depending on the sleeping arrangements: state the actual group size and your needs before booking.
From Le Nid, allow around nine minutes on foot to the Palais, depending on the route and crowds. The five-minute reference is for the drive, which varies with traffic. During a trade show, leave extra time for checks and consult our Cannes events guide.
Parking, noise and access: what to check before booking
- Parking: we recommend the Suquet-Forville car park. Parking is not included at Le Nid. There are spaces in the surrounding streets, with no guarantee of availability. Check access arrangements during the Forville works.
- Quiet: ask which way the bedrooms face and about the accommodation’s features; streets with restaurants can be lively.
- Access: check the floor, steps, lift and drop-off point according to your group’s needs.
- Budget: compare the total for the same dates and number of guests, including fees and cancellation conditions.
